Indians – Why do they love breaking rules

The sign on the res wall reads, Do not park your two wheeler on footpath and right under the sign some body has parked their two wheeler.  He must have seen the sign.

Why do Indians do that. Why do they have comptemt for rules. Why do they feel proud on breaking rules. Why do they disobey rules.

Before India gained it’s independence in 1947, they were ruled by foreigners, 800 years by Muslim rulers who wanted to convert the infidels and then 200 years by British who wanted to humiliate Indians. That is why Indians have comptemt for rules. Rules are meant to control, insult and loot.

When you break a rule, you are symbolically fighting injustice and oppression. Breakers of rules are heros.

If you are able to break rules and get away with it, you have separated yourself from an average compliant Indian.

May be it is not all that complicated, the two wheeler owner knows that the rule is not enforceable. The neighbourhood business want the space free for their customers. Or maybe the owner knows that if penalized, I can scare the rule enforcer with my “contacts” with high up people. Or may be he is ready to bribe a cop and have his way.

What do you think?
