Elon Musk, the richest man on earth and founder of PayPal, Tesla Motors, SpaceX, NeuraLink and The Boring Company has made a bid to buy Twitter for 43 billion US dollars. He has stated that he wants to unlock the potential of Twitter and encourage free speech.
While all that defense of free speech may be true, it is only a superficial reason for Elon to buy Twitter. In my opinion, he has not disclosed the real reason and neither have financial analysts realized his ultimate goal to buy twitter for its data and merge it with Tesla.
Tesla Bot or Optimus Prime is a human like robot being developed by Tesla to do any thing that humans can do. The FSD or Full Self Driving Software has been developed by Tesla motors so that cars and Robo taxis can drive themselves. FSD will be used so that TeslaBot can understand and navigate the world around it . But if TeslaBot has to be a useful humanoid who can understand the inner world of humans, it must understand the human culture. Twitter has a giga store of data that is needed to train TeslaBot on human inner world and culture.
Twitter is not a free speech platform and its employees censor opinions that do not align with their board’s beliefs. TeslaBot will be only half good with current skewed data of Twitter. To be fully trained on human culture and its nuances, everyone with every opinion should squeak their version of the truth.
That is why Elon Must wants to acquire Twitter and make it a platform of free speech.
